It was Friday evening and I fancied a beer. I called at the nearest bar. It was The Gamekeeper. I ordered a Goose Island 312. What happened next is a bit of a blur.
A friendly face approached me and asked how I was. After exchanging pleasantries we identified ourselves. He was Lou, a gregarious Italian American.
“Do you like Bruce Springsteen?”
I answered in the affirmative.
A few minutes later I had met Lou’s wife Mara and their friends Matt and Cathy. We were on our way to the Park West to enjoy an evening of songs by Bruce Springsteen. The music would be performed by Michael McDermott with The Duke Street Kings.

The theatre was packed, the band was fantastic and the audience was even better. If you like Springsteen and Tom Petty you would have loved to have been there.
I had a great time.
Thank you to Lou, Mara, Matt, Cathy, Meg and Joe. Also thanks to the gentleman who likes Monty Python but I didn’t write down your name.

I will never forget.
